Planting Instructions

Choose the Right Location

Thrives in USDA Zones 7-10.

Prefers full sun to partial shade.

Best suited for well-drained soils with a slightly acidic pH.

 

Prepare the Soil

Loosen the soil about twice the width of the root ball.

Add organic matter to improve soil quality if needed.

Ensure proper drainage to avoid root rot.

 

Planting Your Tree

Dig a hole as deep as the root ball but twice as wide.

Position the tree in the hole with the root ball level with the ground.

Backfill with soil and lightly pack to remove air pockets.

Water thoroughly after planting.

 

Mulching

Apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch around the base, keeping it 2 inches away from the trunk to prevent rot.


Watering Schedule

First 3 Months: Water deeply 2-3 times per week.

3-6 Months: Water once or twice a week, depending on rainfall.

After Establishment (1 Year+): Water as needed during dry spells.


Long-Term Care

Pruning: Minimal pruning needed; shape in late winter if necessary.

Fertilization: Use a slow-release fertilizer in early spring.

Pest & Disease Management: Resistant to most pests but monitor for leaf spots.
