Plants for Florida Scrub-Jays (Aphelocoma coerulescens) | Native Plants for Florida Wildlife

Support Florida’s only bird species endemic to the state with native plants from Flowing Well Tree Farm, your Premium Native & Fruiting Grower in Pierson, Florida. Discover Florida native shrubs, trees, and fruiting plants that help create wildlife-friendly landscapes for the Florida Scrub-Jay (Aphelocoma coerulescens), a distinctive blue-and-gray bird found in Florida’s unique scrub habitats. Scrub-jays rely on open, sandy landscapes with low-growing vegetation and food sources such as acorns, insects, and berries. Native oaks are especially valuable because their acorns provide an important food resource, while native shrubs can support insects and contribute to a diverse habitat. Our Florida-adapted plants are ideal for native gardens, conservation landscapes, habitat restoration, and environmentally conscious properties. Choose regionally appropriate native species to help support Florida’s biodiversity and preserve the natural character of local ecosystems.
