Our Turmeric plants are locally grown at Flowing Well Tree Farm in Pierson, FL, well adapted to Florida’s warm climate and sandy soils. Valued for both its tropical foliage and its flavorful, golden rhizomes, turmeric is an excellent choice for edible gardens, containers, and Florida-friendly landscapes.

Planting Zones

USDA Zones 8–11

Grows as a perennial in warm climates; can be grown as a seasonal plant in cooler zones

Planting Instructions

Plant rhizomes or plants in spring after the danger of frost has passed

Dig a hole slightly wider than the root mass and plant at soil level

Space plants 12–18 inches apart

Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly to retain moisture
